Background

You work in an information technology (IT) development role for a small company called DevWorks that specialises in systems analysis, design, and development services for a range of clients. DevWorks uses an agile system development methodology, and believes that this has allowed them to develop systems more rapidly without compromising quality. They are, however, aware that user experience design is becoming an increasingly important part of successful system development and are worried that it is not being given enough attention in their development process. You have been asked to investigate how the company can integrate user experience design into their agile development process. The chief information officer would like you to produce a report that helps them to progress this change towards a greater emphasis on user experience design.

To successfully complete the assignment, you should first identify and read resources that discuss the integration of user experience design into agile development (e.g. journal and conference papers and IT industry web sources). Then create a report based on what you have found out. The report will be used internally at DevWorks, so should be written in a style that will be accessible to IT professionals.

Format Guidelines

1. Your report should be clearly written in language suitable for IT professionals to understand.

2. Your report should be around 1500 words in length.

3. Your report must have the following structure to ensure that it presents the information in a logical and useful way:
• Title page, with a title that clearly reflects its contents.
• Table of contents. This must be generated using the Word Table of Contents feature.
• Introduction. This should include the purpose of the report.
• Potential benefits. This section should discuss the potential benefits that DevWorks could achieve from integrating user experience design into its agile development process.
• Potential problems. This section should discuss the potential problems that can occurwhen integrating user experience design into agile development. This should provide a basis for the recommendations in the next section.
• Recommendations. This section should provide explicit guidance that will help your company to successfully integrate user experience design into its agile development.
• Bibliography. This shouldlist all the resources you consulted in writing the report. These should be presented using APA referencing style. Your report should also include citations when you directly quote facts you have obtained from sources- but it is not intended to be an academic essay and should primarily be your ideas and recommendations.
