While assisting the patient, the student asks what may have caused the ulcers. The patient claims to use an emollient she received from the clinic, as well as a foam pad while she is seated. 2. A 78-year-old man is caring for his 75-year-old wife as she recovers from a stroke. Their family requests a home care visit to make sure their father is not overwhelmed with the responsibility of caring for their mother at home. The home care nurse determines that the patient's husband is not lifting his wife out of bed and into a chair as the hospital staff did before the patient was released. The husband explains that his wife doesn't like to get out of bed, and she cries when he tries to lift her.
