In most developed countries, it is not uncommon for a large amount of food to go to waste. Many of these citizens experience overnutrition. However, in many developing countries, the people do not have enough food or food with the appropriate nutrients. As a result, the citizens of these countries suffer from vitamin and mineral related ailments.

Case 15: Preventing Iodine-Deficiency Disease in China in your textbook: Essentials of Public Health Case Studies in Global Health
Compare and contrast the issue of vitamin and mineral deficencies in Nepal and China in a two (2) to three (3) page report. Address the following information in your case study assignment:
Identify the geographic areas involved.
Discuss the health needs of the population that are being addressed.
Explain the financial and/or cultural costs.
Describe the outcome of the interventions employed. If there is no documented outcome to date, you may speculate as to an expected outcome based on your outside research.
In your conclusion, please state which case showed the most positive impact and why.
