Case Study: In this activity, you will act as the Chef. You are responsible for participating in the health, safety and security management meeting that takes place once a month to discuss any risks or hazards that are occurring in the business.

Chef

You will play the role of the Chef and you are required to discuss the risks and hazards that you have identified in activity 1,2 and 3. You are also required to provide suggestions in the meeting on how to improve the work practices to create a safe work environment for all the team members working in the restaurant.

Restaurant manager

One of your classmates will act as the restaurant manager, participate in the discussion with you, and provide their suggestions on how to improve the work practices.

Staff member

One of the classmates will act as the staff member who will participate in the discussion and highlight the unsafe work practices they have identified in the kitchen based on the previous activities.

Questions: You are required to perform the following tasks:

Contribute to health, safety and security management meeting to ensure a safe workplace.
Discuss the health and security hazards in the workplace as identified in the activity 1,2 and 3
Provide suggestions on the safe work practices in the workplace
Identify and discuss the person responsible to take actions and set timelines
Discuss the feedback collected in the activity 1 from the intern and discuss any improvements suggested by the team member.
At the end of this process, you will need to confirm and clarify any doubts the team members may have and take note of any suggestions they propose.
