For your literary club this week, you have the privilege to choose your favorite character from a prose or dramatic work to discuss the evidence of character development.

• Prepare an analysis of 2 pages of a fictional character from a novel, movie, or 1 television episode. Be mindful that your interpretations and analysis should be based on your own interpretation of the primary source (novel, movie, 1 television episode). Avoid using information from film or literary blogs, Wikipedia, or Web sites, such as a movie database. Your analysis of the fictional character should be based on your own interpretations and your own observations, supported by evidence (dialogue, scene descriptions, quotes, or character's actions) from the primary source.
• Include descriptions and cited examples using each of the following 6methods to demonstrate the character's development and traits:
  • Type of setting in which the character is placed
  • Actions taken by the character used to reveal his or her nature
  • Author's descriptionsin the novel or the movie or TV scene used to reveal more about the character.
  • Character's specificdialogue that he or she uses to reveal his or her personality or motives
  • Things that other fictionalcharacters in the novel, movie, or television episode say about the character that reveal the character's traits
  • The character's actions at the end of the novel, film, ortelevision episode that reveal more about the character's change in his or herperspectives by the end of the creative work
