Problem: Psychology Presentation
I. Choose a specific sexual dysfunction. Students will research sexual dysfunction and submit a PowerPoint presentation that will include the essential components of the dysfunction, relevant and engaging statistics, any competing theories that might explain the etiology of the issue, and treatment options suggested in the literature. Emphasis should be placed on evidence-based practice and education. The tone of your PowerPoint should be academic and clinical.
II. All information must be collected from credible research or clinical literature, and the sources for your data must be cited on your PowerPoint slides using APA style. Clinical and theoretically oriented books on the subject area of your choice are also permissible. Website-based information should be avoided.
III. If there are competing philosophies or opinions about your issues, present both/all sides and then give your evaluation of the merits of each. Be sure to include any relevant ethical or legal implications of practice with the population and describe any social forces, norms, economic factors, or social policy that might be influential.
IV. The presentation should educate your peers about the sexual issue to a level of understanding that will increase knowledge and familiarity with sexual behaviors that clients may engage in. Ensure that your presentation provides the necessary information from a judgment-free perspective, utilizing empathy and compassion as shown to any client.
