SCENARIO:
According to the Department of Social Welfare (2021), more than 2,000 child abuse cases were reported each year, and the number of cases in 2019 stood at 6,061. As many as 2,040 child abuse cases were reported in the first four months of 2021. Abuse often occurs repeatedly and involves more than one type, resulting in lifelong complications to a child's mental and physical health.
