Professional issues and quality improvement plan
After reading the QIP (quality improvement plan) of the centre. It discussed in the points below.
1. Regular rhythm of learning:
In the past there was an ordered, predictable schedule of activities repeated daily or weekly, such as setting aside time each day or each week for reading, play, arts and crafts, etc., can be referred to as a regular rhythm of learning. Even though routines might help children feel safe and stable, they may not be "concrete" or useful for several reasons, particularly when it comes to young children. The number one problemof this was the developmental needs of young children are not met by inflexibility. Children will not explore more in any topics.
There is usually minimal opportunity for in-depth study of a single subject or for shifting emphasis or curiosity. It won't be concrete because in young children's developments are fast and fixed routine might overshadow the learning opportunities. They will miss the opportunities for engagement and as the young children are very curious and motivated by hands on exploration.
So my centre came up with the webbing bases approach that addresses these issues. As webbing based opportunities provides the flexibility with this and respond to the children needs, understands children interests and their development stages.
Why this is effective:
1. Weekly or daily evaluations are used to construct the activities, helping educators to constantly adjust to the fluctuating interests of the students.
2. Themes may vary or broaden to promote more in-depth inquiry, involvement and overall growth i.e., holistic development in children.
3. By making the activities more fun and interesting, educators may respond to the emotional, social, and intellectual demands of their students.
2. Children's health and safety:
Every child's comfort and well-being are properly taken care of, including ensuring suitable opportunity for them to sleep, rest, and relax, activities and practices related to health
Promotes and puts into practice good hygiene and illness and injury management techniques. Healthy lifestyle encourages physical exercise and a diet that is suitable for each child. Educators are concerned about the health and safety about the children. Children during the sand playing time throws shoes everywhere, so if their some arrangement should be done like arranging baskets to puts he shoes and labelling would help the children. Have seen toddlers facing difficulties in putting of their shoes in the fence as it's higher than their height. Second things children was seen struggling to wash their hands and not rubbing it properly. As children possibly get exposure to the germs, they need to wash hands in proper way.
3. Overloaded Curriculum and Scheduling:
Because of overloaded activities and busy schedule weekly, monthly and yearly must be done by the educators at the childcare centre they are been rushing to complete the tasks in holistic and rhythmic manner. Educators are feeling pressured to cover everything which, however, creates urgency and they couldn't focus on depth. The impact from is less effectiveness of the program as disconnection of planned activities and the children's actual learning needs. Unrealistic expectations and to cover all the areas i.e. emotional, social, cognitive, it's quite challenging for anyone performing these duties as educators might feel overwhelmed by the number of activities and topics they need to cover with the set timeframe.
In order to come through these things centre could come through these things:
• Streamlining documentation criteria and to minimize the administrative demands by using effective digital tools.
• Providing additional staff could be the best option, additional support and the additional resources to make them less pressurized and to have enough time for the preparation, observation and documentation.
• Prioritizing the programs that are depth based, knowledge based rather than the breadth based.
• Prioritizing on the quality task rather than quantity, and focus should be naturally holistic development in natural rhythm and supportive manner without feeling pressurized.
1. Complete Professional Issues (1000 words).
2. quality improvement plan of all the three issues of the centreone by one as shown above. Begin implementation ofsteps towards improvement of issues. What can I do to improve these things at that centre what will be my individual contribution in improvement of the plan and what will be my plan.
3. Write reflection of each 3 problem. Reflect and continue alongimprovement of issues as per your plan.
