Case Study in Nursing

A nursing case study should present an in-depth analysis of a real life incident or a specific situation. It is a practical way to illustrate theory and content using a real or simulated life situation or even both. In other words, it's a nursing care plan. That's why you should write it using the nursing process as a method to organize your thoughts.

When writing this paper, you should keep in mind 5 steps of a nursing process:

1. Make an assessment of the patient

2. Make a list of nursing diagnoses of the patient

3. List 5 goals of care and specify 5 nursing interventions

4. Describe how you will start the care plan

Part 1. The patient status

Part 2. The nursing assessment

When discussing the patient's nursing assessment, you should describe nursing diagnoses. You should describe vital signs and test results and provide information on nursing observations. You should be specific and explain why you identified a particular diagnosis. These nursing diagnoses will help you determine the nursing care plan.

Part 3. The current care plan and your recommendations for improvement

In this section, you should describe details of the nursing care plan, including the measurable goals and interventions. You should explain how the nursing care plan can improve the patient's quality of life. You should also evaluate the current care plan and provide your recommendations on how it can be improved. You recommendations should be based on the patient's diagnosis, its current status, and prognosis. You should support your recommendations with relevant authoritative sources and cite them using the proper style according to the style guidelines. Here you should take into account your instructor's requirements. When you finish writings, you should proofread it, check punctuation, and fix grammar and spelling errors.You should add references list if there are any.
