We are studying the discovery phase of civil litigation. This is one of the most important phases of litigation.

Students should discuss why the discovery process is so important. What types of evidence can and cannot be discovered? Why great care should be taken in finding out what evidence opposing counsel has at their disposal? How will this information be useful at trial? How will it help in developing questions for direct and cross-examination? What limits may be imposed on what can be discovered and who can impose them? How? IN FLORIDA

Research the statutes, case law, and rules of civil procedure of your state relating to discovery. Note that we are focusing on state law, rather federal law, as it relates to this topic.
