If there is one scientific thing that you take away from this course it is an understanding of the scientific method. It is critical in knowing how true science works. It helps us to understand the important differences between science and pseudoscience. And one of those biggest differences is the ability to truly use the scientific method, especially a hypothesis that after testing is either proven true orproven false. For this discussion:
1) Review the scientific method in your reading
2) Look at the two websites found under Webliography that are about the scientific method.
Discuss the differences between science and pseudoscience.
Here is the book
Make sure that as part of that discussion you:
- Use every step in the scientific method, describe what you expect to find in a science (as practiced by a trained scientist) and what you would not expect to find in pseudoscience (as practiced by a pseudoscientist)
- Include the difference between a science and a pseudoscience. (Make sure you include the pseudoscience criteria you read about).
