For this think carefully about communicative disorders by making a hypothetical child with a communicative disorder. You are to identify potential language behaviours that may be displayed by the child.
You will also be making a plan that will help support the language development of the child within the classroom or dayhome.
Step 1: make a Hypothetical Child (hundred words)
1. Choose one communicative disorder from Chapter of the textbook (Otto, B. (2018).
Language development in early childhood education (5 ed). Pearson Canada)
2. Describe in specific detail the background of a hypothetical child who has this communicative disorder. The child must be between the ages of 0-5 (please do not use a real child or real names). The background will include:
• made up name, age, current program they are attending
• communicative disorder, when they were diagnosed or if they are in process, specific tests that have been done, specialists they are seeing, etc.
Step 2: Identify and Discuss (two hundred fifty words)
1. Discuss the communication disorder further, drawing on one point from your textbook. You may want to do further research on this disorder. Please ensure you are using APA 7th edition when creating an in-text citation (one paragraph)
2. Identify and describe what Identify and describe what language behaviours the child may be displaying in care and at home (two paragraphs)
Step 3: Create a Plan ( seven hundred words)
Create a plan to demonstrate how you would begin to enhance the language development of the child within the classroom or dayhome.
Add ideas, resources, activities, games, new routines or anything you feel may add to this child's plan. Make sure to use APA 7th edition using ideas/resources that are not your own.
