Question: BUSINESS LETTER ASSIGNMENT

The California State University, East Bay (CSUEB) College of Business & Economics (CBE) is very pleased to announce the call for nominations for the Annual Leadership in Diversity Awards honoring exceptional Bay Area companies who are leading programs that foster socio-cultural diversity in the workplace, recognize the full range of human diversity, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, ability, socioeconomic status, health, and mental health. The winner will be selected on the basis of a demonstrated active commitment to diversity through its hiring and employee relations initiatives. The winning company will be honored at the Annual CBE Banquet on May 6, 2017.

Your Task: After careful research, write a letter to the Diversity Committee of the College of Business & Economics nominating the company of your choice. Your letter should:

• Highlight your cultural self-profile and the approximate percentage of people fitting your profile that work for the company of your choice;

• Demonstrate that your company has provided exemplary and outstanding knowledge of diverse world views in the hiring and retention of employees;

• Show that your company promotes inclusiveness in an on-going fashion, through leadership in the areas of cultural diversity and equality, as well as engaging with and communicating with people of diverse identities;

• Explain what you hope to accomplish nominating your company of choice.

• Thank the committee for taking time to read your letter and indicate whether or not you would like a response and how you would like to receive the response (email, mail, telephone). 9. Use all parts of a professional letter, including the following: Date, Sender's Address, Inside Address, Salutation, Body, Closing, and Signature.

Assignment Notes: The letter should be no more than 2 pages long and should use Standard American English and proper grammar and punctuation.

- Your letter should be written in a standard font (Times New Roman) and should be single spaced within paragraphs and double spaced between paragraphs.

What to Submit:

- This assignment consists of the following three (3) pages arranged in the following order:

• Cover Page (one page).

• Business Letter (two pages maximum, single-spaced within paragraphs).
