A manager approaches you to discuss the termination of an employee. The employee is a relatively new hire with 8 months of service, 90% productivity, and an overall poor attitude. He has received a verbal warning for attendance (11 days), and a verbal warning for safety. Recently, this employee had a minor WSIB/WCB claim (no lost time) and is now on modified duties for a strain injury. Employees on the team are annoyed because this employee is now on light duties.
