As a professional in the criminal justice field, you will likely collaborate with industry professionals in policing styles. Developing an understanding of how these roles function will support effective interaction in the field. You will consider how each style is represented in the field and make inferences about each agency's organizational and political culture. This will help you prepare to submit Project One in Module Five. First, review the Styles of Policing resource section. Then, for each style, describe a scenario or hypothetical situation (in 1 to 2 paragraphs) in which the style is exemplified in the career field. This does not have to be the career you are planning to pursue.
