You explain that the medication is doxycycline. You shared that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations are still pending as of March 2024. The DoxyPEP study focused on individuals who were at elevated risk for bacterial STIs, which was defined as having ≥ 1 bacterial STI (chlamydia, gonorrhea or syphilis) in the past 12 months and condomless sex with ≥ 1 male partner in the last 12 months.
