You will now continue your meeting with Belinda and discuss each of the strategies that you are recommending. Belinda would like to be involved in decisions around each of the strategies and may have some ideas of her own that will require strategies to be changed.

You should now meet with Belinda to identify and explain each suggested option to minimise risk. You will need to encourage Belinda to participate in the decision making process and make changes to the strategies as required. Your assessor will be looking to see that you:

Identify how each option is consistent with Belinda's safety needs and priorities
Discuss any concerns that Belinda may have and support her in the decision making process. Make amendments to the strategies as necessary
Recognise Belinda's risk factors g Maximise Belinda's participation in the risk assessment process
Communicate in a supportive, encouraging and respectful manner
