In Chapter of "The Norton Field Guide," I learned the importance of critically evaluating sources for credibility and relevance in research. The tip that stood out to me was the reminder to consider the author's qualifications and the publication context. This resonates with my past successful research experience where verifying the author's expertise significantly improved the reliability of my sources.
When conducting research in the past, I found that maintaining organized notes was a crucial skill. It helped streamline the writing process and ensured that I could easily trace information back to its source. This aligns with the advice from "The Little Seagull Handbook" in Section R-1 about effective note-taking during research.
Reflecting on my research methodology, my past approach involved exploring a broad range of sources before narrowing down to the most relevant ones. In this course, I plan to refine this process by initially focusing on a more targeted search to save time and enhance the efficiency of my research.
For Milestone 1 feedback, I've chosen the topic of renewable energy adoption. The problem involves the slow adoption of renewable energy sources, and the proposed solution centers around increasing public awareness and government incentives. My search terms include "renewable energy adoption," "public awareness," "government incentives," "renewable energy challenges," and "clean energy promotion." These terms form a comprehensive set to explore various facets of the topic. The keywords are strong and effective as they cover both the problem and potential solutions.
