During the interview, she is noted to be fidgeting and makes poor eye contact. She reports feeling increasingly anxious about leaving the house for work each day and leaving her child in a daycare center. She worries "day and night" and feels her "heart-pounding" at rest. Upon further questioning, she admits to a 2-year history of insomnia, difficulty concentrating, and fatigue. These symptoms have worsened since the birth of her child. She is worried that this is affecting her marriage and other relationships and will prevent her from being able to return to work. She denies any substance use/abuse. She denies suicidal/homicidal ideation and audible/visual hallucinations-no other known psychiatric history.
