We talked about the Trojan War. There are many different theories concerning the Trojan War and whether or not it actually occurred. Discuss your opinion concerning the Trojan War. Do you think it is a war that actually occurred? Do you think it is a war that has occurred and has been affected by the oral tradition? Is it completely fabricated? Is it just a good story? Consider the role of the gods/goddesses. Religion is a powerful force in a war: Even if you personally don't believe in the Greek gods, is it possible that the people fighting in the war did? Could the war have taken place even if the gods did not play a role in the war?

As well, if you like, you can add your thoughts about our contemporary world and how it reflects the same issues as the Iliad and Trojan War: Why do you suppose this is so?
