Assessment task - Oral presentation
Task description:
Prepare a video presentation focusing on STEM and inquiry-based learning in ECE based on the following guidelines:
Write a slide presentation to cover the criteria and include a reference list on final slide(s)
Create a video of your presentation, with your face clearly visible in the video. You can use Microsoft Stream or Teams to create the video. Save the video to your one drive and create a link for the presentation, making sure it is shared with your lecturer. Video must be a minimum of 4 minutes and a maximum of 5 minutes.
Submit the slide presentation in PDF format, with the link embedded on the first page. Problems in accessing the video by the lecturer will result in delays in marking your presentation. It is each student's responsibility to ensure the video is recorded properly, with image and sound, and can be seen by the lecturer.
In-text citations are required, along with a reference list.
Criteria:
Explain intentional teaching strategies for STEM and Inquiry-based learning in ECEC settings.
Discuss one age-appropriate STEM related activity / learning experience as an example to demonstrate how you apply various intentional teaching strategies, practices, principles from EYLF to support children's inquiry-based learning for STEM related activities. (Clearly state the target age)
Evaluate what children learn from STEM related activities and how it links to EYLF.
Reflect on any areas that need to be modified or improved for the future practice in ECEC settings.
