Assignment Description:
For this individual assessment, you will select an organisation and research and analyse a case study that is based on this organisation's information system.

Your chosen organisation should be approved by your lecturer before you start writing the report.

Through your research and analysis, you are required to identify the issues that the case organisation faced due to their current information system.

Based on the identified organisational issues, you are required to show how the application of a range of technologies help to resolve the issues identified.

You are required to write your findings in a report illustrating how the information technologies would fit in the existing structure and possibly address the relationship between business performance, effectiveness, and use of information technology. Your report should cover the following sections.

Report Writing Guidelines:
Your report must include the following.

Title Page - Clearly set out the title of your assessment, your name, your student ID, the unit name, the unit code and the name of the lecturer. There must be no graphics or pictures of any kind on the title page.
Executive Summary - Provide 'No more than one page' of summary.

Introduction - This section should introduce the general aims, backgrounds of the organisation, and areas/issues you will discuss in the report.
Body - Discuss your findings in detail, where appropriate, headings and sub-headings should be included with the logical progression of your report from one idea to the next.

Do not use the word 'Body' as a heading - identify words that relate to your report for the heading.
Body of your report should:

Describe your case organisation's business model, organisational
structure, politics, culture, and environment.

Describe the organisation's primary and supporting activities.

Describe your case organisation's current information systems.

Discuss on the impact of organisational structure, politics, culture, and environment on organisational change if the organisation plan to implement an innovative system.

Identify and analyse the value chain of this organisation and discuss how information systems contribute to adding value to this value chain.

Analyse Porter's five forces model and discuss how this organisation achieved competitive advantage. Describe their weaknesses in comparison with their competitors (References expected).

Discuss how the organisation achieved operational excellence or discuss the areas where they have a weakness in order to achieve operational excellence.

Recommendations - Describe the recommendations you would make. Make recommendations on how this organisation will add value to its value chain, get a competitive advantage, sustainable competitive advantage, and operational excellence.

Conclusion - In this section, you need to summarise your work and findings. You should introduce no new points in your conclusion.

References - This is a list of all the books and articles you have cited in your assessment. Use APA referencing style for your in-text citations as well as your list of references.
