Assignment:

Choose a topic related to the course Neuropharmacology.

Rule:

1) you do not need to summarize each article in sequence - this would be more like an annotated bibliography (not a term paper outline). . You can simply cite the articles in your outline. For example, "This paper will discuss research on zebrafish that uses anxiety-like behavioural tests to examine the effect of scopolamine (Hamilton et al., 2017), ethanol (Krook et al., 2019), and nicotine (May et al., 2016). Since there are a number of new paradigms used to test drugs, this paper will also examine some novel tests like the submerged plus maze (Hope et al., 2019), episodic-like memory test (Hamilton et al., 2016) and novel object recognition memory test (May et al., 2016.")

2) It should be at least two sentences and enough to give me an idea of what the main message of your paper might be. Note that this may change as you find new research papers so I don't necessarily expect that you will copy and paste this into your final paper. This can be what you expect to conclude/discuss in your final paper.

3) You should have a sentence that describes the main focus of the paper (so that I know what your goal is). However, you do not need to prove a point. This can be a literature review that looks more in-depth into a topic. For example, "This paper will analyze literature on intermittent fasting and discuss findings related to neuroplasticity and neurogenesis." This is not very relevant to our course on neuropharmacology, but I hope you get the idea - it isn't necessary to have a final conclusion that intermittent fasting is BAD or GOOD, because there is a variety of evidence for both sides. However, you paper should discuss the pros and cons/limitations of the articles that you choose to write about.
