1. Diversity Interview. For this interview, you will be asked to talk with someone who is different from you as it relates to their race and at least one other area of intersectionality (ethnicity, language, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, (dis)ability, age, etc.). Please make sure to inform the interviewee that participation in this interview is voluntary, and they can choose not to answer any of the interview questions if they are so inclined. Please ask your interviewee to answer the questions below.
a. Briefly describe your cultural background and identities. (i.e., race, ethnicity, language, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, (dis)ability, age, etc.
b. What do you consider the most important elements of your cultural identity?
c. How would you describe your personal and family values? How did those experiences shape your identities?
d. What would you say is the most commonly held misconception related to your cultural identities?
e. What are some challenges you or your family have had to overcome related to your cultural identities? This can include areas related to education, economic, occupation, and/or policies.f. What strengths and opportunities do you associate with your cultural identities?
g. How has your cultural background influenced your view of different cultural groups?h. What culture or group, different than your own, would you most like to learn more about and why?
