While in the original Staples-Office Depot case from 1997, the relevant market was narrowly defined as Office Superstores, in the Whole Foods-Wild Oats case the narrow definition Premium Natural and Organic Supermarkets was rejected by the courts. Based on the main economic facts and arguments on both situations, choose either one key similarity or one key difference between both cases, and comment on it. Did the factor you choose have a crucial impact in establishing the definition of the market in each merger case? Why or why not?
