Overview
The purpose of this homework is to present a well-developed white paper addressing the issue identified in the SWOT analysis. Nursing leaders use white papers to outline particularly complex issues and present evidence-based solutions to these complex issues. While white papers include scholarly evidence and references, they are not scholarly research papers.
Instructions:
For this homework, a white paper will be developed. This homework does not require APA format, however professional writing is expected, and references should be included using APA formatting. References should be from a credible, reliable source. References should not be older than 2-3 years.
I. Introduction
A. Describe the purpose of the white paper and what the audience can expect.
B. Include a concise summary of the SWOT analysis findings, to include the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats identified.
1. Ensure you apply instructor feedback from the SWOT analysis homework.
II. Problem Statement & Background
A. Provide a concise, two to three sentence statement of the issue. (Remember who the audience is!)
B. Discuss statistics and scholarly evidence (at least 5 sources) to demonstrate the presence of the issue, the significance of the issue, and the impact of the issue on healthcare organizations.
III. Contributing Factors
A. Discuss legal and ethical considerations.
B. Discuss the relationship between the chosen issue and the following:
1. the presence of a healthy work environment,
2. diversity, equity, inclusion, and
3. organizational structure.
4. For each of these elements, provide an analysis of the impact of these elements on the issue at hand.
IV. Proposed Solution
A. Provide a comprehensive discussion on the proposed solution, including:
1. implementation,
2. resources required (to include consumables, personnel, and equipment where appropriate and applicable),
3. timeline,
4. goals, and
5. intended outcomes.
V. Conclusion
A. Summarize the content of the white paper, concluding with an additional two to three sentence call to action.
