Case Study: For this assignment, identify and discuss three areas of interest or "disciplines" that you might like to go into in future studies. You will need to identify these areas, define them if necessary (might be a good time to use the "essential definition" formula) to expand on what they are and explain how you discovered them and why you find them interesting. You might want to refer to current schools of thought, new theories or discoveries coming forth, research studies or even personalities and media that have made the subject popular.
e.g. Brian Cox, Dr. Who and Space-Time Physics
From one of your three subject areas, identify and explain one interesting topic/subject area you want to explore through research and writing for your final Academic Research Paper in this course. Choosing this topic will likely require you to be specific and narrow your subject area down to one aspect or "part" of the overall larger subject that you can manage in a single research paper. For example, the subject area of "Mass Media" might have to be narrowed down to "The Influence of Wayne and Shuster on Canadian Sketch Comedy" or the subject area of "Space-Time Physics" might be narrowed down to "Is Faster than Light Travel Possible within Einsteinian Relativity?"
You may decide you want to change your final topic choice for the Research Paper during reading week while you begin collecting research materials. If you do so, when you submit your later Research Paper Outline and Final Bibliography indicate the change at that point. This should be last point where you change the topic choice.
Questions: Your Academic Interests Reflection and Final Topic Choice Memo assignment should be between 500 - 800 words.
