Case Study: Beowulf motivativation that he has in mind is to become a king. In the beginning of the poem he explains his bravery and how he sets to become the hero he is. So, he wants to be in service for king Hrothgar and tries to end Grendel. In the poem it describes Beowulf in two different phases youth-age, in his youth he proves to breca to a swimming challenge. Through the years he has proven his self to become a warrior and proves that he can take on Grendel mother the dragon. Beowulf just wants to show people that he is a great fighter and that he can end the terror of Grendel to protect his people.
Since Beowulf was so determined to become a great warrior in the poem the actual calls to Beowulf when Grendel attacks the men and warriors again leaving him with wounded warriors. His reputation makes him good because he did good for the good cause he fought like a warrior and protected his people like a king should, even though it took him years to become a king. Reading line 710 when Beowulf hunted Grendel down and Grendel was so scared that it ran back to the swamp and as determined Beowulf was, he chased the dragon down and brought the king Grendel l head. Hrothgar was so happy he talks to the gods and the people can be finally happy. Beowulf proves his courage and strength that makes good. And he goes on to set his quest and proves why he is the great fighter he is.
In the ancient times people back than was determine like Gilgamesh and Beowulf I believe that these two were more courageous and other was trying to prove what they did like accomplishment, and it was bravery to me. Gilgamesh stood up for his men and he left his home to be the man he was. Beowulf from young age was trying to prove that he was a great fighter, and he can take anyone or anything down he didn't back down he stood his ground. His king was proud of Beowulf and praised to the god that these young men finally freed them of Grendel and that they can live happy again because of Beowulf, his village doesn't have to be scared anymore. Even though he was trying to become a king earlier he realized that his people need him, and they looked up to him. Just like Gilgamesh his people looked as him as their king and they did everything that they were told, Gilgamesh tried to bring out the heroic out of people, he went on a quest to find hero's that he believed can stand with me. In conclusion these two men was good people and the proven the good that they did. Both were great representable people of bravery and heroic.
