Based on an "adversarial model" and focuses heavily on the rights of the accused. The adversary system seeks to protect individual rights by diffusing government power by including several different actors, each with an important- equally powerful, role to play and ensuring that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty. The four Amendments found in the U.S. Constitution's Bill of Rights that deal specifically with criminal procedure are the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 8th Amendment. Please briefly describe each of these important Amendments and how they impact the court system. Which do you think does the most towards protecting the rights of the accused?
