I. At least one practice model (i.e. Generalist Intervention Model, Cultural, Strength-Based, Empowerment, social learning, cognitive behavior, structural family, solution-focused, narrative therapy, etc). The model selected can also be for working with individuals, families, or groups.

II. Provide a rationale for selecting the model and its usefulness with your client system/Capstone topic. This should also include the premise and key concepts of the model. Also, discuss what theory informs the development of this model.

III. Must analyze and discuss whether it is an evidence-based practice model and its effectiveness.

IV. Apply the intervention to your Capstone topic.

V. Discuss the strengths and limitations of the theory.

Practice Skills

I. Discuss at least 3 -4 social work practice skills social workers need using this model in social work practice.

II. Provide a rationale for the selection of social work practice skills. Why are these skills important?

III. Discuss how these skills can be applied to your Capstone project.

IV. For one of the three practice skills, analyze and discuss whether there is evidence-based knowledge about the practice skill and its effectiveness.

V. Evaluate the strengths and limitations of current knowledge available with regard to the selected practice skills.

In the Research and Evaluation section of the paper, you should begin by discussing Practice Informed Research and Research-Informed Practice. This section of your paper should be 3-4 pages and 4-5 references.

You should include an introduction to this section of the paper and discuss why research is an integral component of social work practice.

1. Discussion of practice informed vs research informed.

2. Discuss social workers ethical responsibilities to evaluating practice.

3. Provide a brief discussion of methods to disseminate research findings. What methods are used to disseminate research findings (ex. books, journal articles, conference presentations and papers, performances, exhibitions, reports, media interviews, social media, and participation in debates)?

4. Use the evidence-based approach relevant to the practice situation, preferably related to the outcomes and effectiveness of the intervention/practice model. Consult a literature review, meta-analysis, or systematic review of any issues related to your Cpastone topic.

5. Be sure to include well-referenced and evidence-based examples of how research knowledge impacts practice. Your discussion of research must link well to the practice situation.

6. Evaluate the strengths and limitations of current knowledge and professional skills, and the resources available.

7. Include any other discussion or information or analysis that you think is relevant.
