Bone, C., & Dragicevic, S. (2009). Evaluating spatio-temporal complexities of forest management: An integrated agent-based modeling and GIS approach. Environmental Modeling & Assessment, 14(4), 481-496.

This research article demonstrates how GIS is used to manage forests and includes calculations such as patch size, number of patches and harvested area. The study points out that there is a need for complex systems approach that uses GIS. Class members can also use the paper to help them complete the week five homework.
