You are responsible for conducting safety checks in your place of business.

The purpose of OSHA is to ensure every working person a safe and healthful workplace. OSHA standards are completed and detailed and are enforced through a system of workplace inspections. There are several approaches to preventing accidents; one is to reduce unsafe condition.

Visit your place of work, school or a local organization and conduct the following Supervisor Safety Checklist (Form CD-574):

Identify areas in which the organization has exceeded in their pursuit for safety and areas in which the organization needs to improve.

For any areas that need improvement, discuss how the organization can work to reduce the threat of safety issues. Discuss what you can do to bring about a change to the workplace.
