Shauna owned and operated an exotic bird and reptile business which was a popular tourist attraction. The reptiles included a Boa Constrictor, named "Biggie." Biggie had been handled lovingly and had developed a calm and docile temperament. Biggie was housed in a large glass cage with a locking door. While Biggie's usual caregiver was on holiday, a temporary worker failed to feed Biggie and then forgot to lock the door to the cage. Biggie escaped to the neighboring property where he killed and consumed the neighbor's small expensive show dog!
The neighbor Rick sued Shauna.
