Description - Viewing art and creating art are two parts of the artistic experience. Creativity is part of being human. This means that artistic expression and creativity can reflect the breadth and depth of our differences and similarities. Emotions, memories, images, and ideas are stimulated when we encounter creative work.

As a viewer, think about the artist's intention, or vision, for what they have made. Consider how art impacts you. When encountering visual art, how do you feel?

In this week's Assignment, choose from a selection of visual art and practice using the techniques to describe and analyze art that are discussed in the required reading resource.

In a 2- to 3-page reflection (300 -350 words):

Choose one example of visual art from Chapter 1 of the textbook that interests you.

Provide the name of the image and its creator you have chosen as well as the page number where you found it.

Describe the image you have chosen. What does it look like? What type of art is it?

Discuss how the image makes you feel. Does the image trigger any memories in your mind? What feelings do you have when you see the image?
