Psychology Paper Assignment - Program Evaluation
Consider the four types of evaluations described to date: needs assessment, process evaluation, outcome evaluation and efficiency evaluation.
For this assignment submission, complete the following:
Part 1 -
1. Discuss how the four types of evaluations work together to present a comprehensive picture of a program.
2. Consider what would be lost if the information obtained from each of the four types were missing?
Part 2 -
Now consider how to apply, or use, program evaluation in an agency setting. For example, an agency depends on licensed social workers to provide billable services to clients as a funding source to the operational budget. Think about how licensure of providers can be evaluated within the agency. It's your topic for this assignment. Assume you are part of an evaluation team within an agency in your state or jurisdiction. One of your tasks is to evaluate how many providers in the agency are licensed, and how many providers qualify for licensure but are not licensed. Assume the goal is for 80% of the agency's providers to be licensed. Hint: You cannot complete this section of the assignment without knowing the licensure requirements for the state or jurisdiction where the agency is located. You MUST use the ASWB website (https://www.aswb.org/regulation/laws-and-regulations-database/) to access the Social Work Regulations Database as a source of knowledge in this assignment.
1. If you were tasked with leading a team to evaluate this program, who are the collaborative team members you would need to create an effective comprehensive evaluation and why?
2. Apply a comprehensive program evaluation to this example. This should not be a general or conceptual discussion of the 4 types of evaluations, it should be an overview of specific application to the example. Create 4 sections where you discuss the needs assessment, the process evaluation, outcomes evaluation, and efficiency evaluation needed in the agency about licensed and unlicensed providers serving clients. Your final product in this section of the assignment fits together to offer a comprehensive "picture" of licensed and unlicensed providers offering services to individuals, families, and groups within the agency. Keep in mind that program evaluations often begin with questions like this. While it may seem vague and unclear, it is now your task to conceptualize and explain how this specific comprehensive evaluation comes together.
