Q. The Medieval period was a single epoch in military history, an age profoundly influenced by martial ideals whose very structure of society was organized for war, and whose leaders were by necessity warriors. The essential elements of this society were the Castle and the Knight. Then as now the world was engaged in an arms race. New weapons technology prompted new defensive technologies, for example, the introduction of crossbows led quickly to the adoption of plate armor rather than chain mail.

Use the internet to explore the importance of the Feudal Order on the conduct of warfare in Medieval Society. Then, in an initial post:

•express warriors of that era and the weapons used to conduct war.

•examine the contention that the "act of war" was not practiced during this era. Provide evidence to support your conclusion.

•Discuss how the armies of this period were formed and supplied/maintained.
