Due to racism black people are considered to be incompetent as compared to the whites. The black person often thinks that he or she is inferior to the whites. A black African American has a thought he or she is not as beautiful or as intelligent as compared to the white skinned children. Such thoughts among the black skinned people can cause depression among themselves which in turn affects the self image. In order to improve the self image, the black people would have to think positive and be positive. Positive thinking can improve self image. Besides, the parents also have a responsibility to change the mind of their children by teaching them moral which would help them to get rid of racial discrimination. Moreover,the social media comments and talks can positively and negatively affect the self image of black African Americans.
