Assignment: Answer ONE of the following questions , writing roughly 3 1/2-5 pages for your answer. Your submissions should be 12pt font double spaced. • Discuss how Caesar took over Gaul (be specific). How did he enhance his image and prestige in doing so? What were the positive consequences of his conquest? What were the negative consequences of his conquest?

• Describe the Fall of the First Triumvirate. What efforts were made to preserve it. What were the reasons for its failure? Who do you think was in the right in the conflict that arose: Caesar and his allies, or Pompey and the Optimates?
