When you study marketing, one of the first things that you learn is that virtually anything can be marketed - therefore, the principles of marketing extend well beyond the scope of physical products. A product is defined as a good, service or idea.

1. Define each of the following: good, service and idea.

2. Identify a product and a service you recently purchased, or saw advertised. Why do they fit into the particular product category (good vs service)?

3. Identify a company that you use that offers both goods and services (cannot be Apple).

4. Discuss how Apple successfully markets goods, services and ideas. Be sure to identify an item they market in each category.
