Case: All of us have had negative experiences during our childhood years. We know adversity is not necessarily bad and in fact, can 'make us stronger' under certain circumstances. Watch the Ted talk listed in this week's modules. Dr. Burke-Harris, surgeon general, discusses childhood trauma and its long-reaching, unexpected, outcomes. For our discussion this week I would like you to think about the difference between adversity and trauma. Please choose a part of Dr. Burke Harris' talk and discuss what may be some of the consequences of ACEs, how these consequences may affect the health of a community. Discuss how a resource from the media resources in module two can potentially assist you to be able to prevent or ensure a positive outcome.
