A senior leader at your workplace is aware that you are taking a university-level HR course and contacts you for advice on a strategic issue.

The leader informs you (in confidence) that your company will be acquiring another company in the next few months and wants your advice on how best to manage the human resources implications of this acquisition.

a. Using the information of textbook, discuss four possible effects of the merger/acquisition (M&A) on the employees at your current organization and/or the acquired company.

b. Provide and give a rationale for at least four recommendations to the senior leader on how the company can decrease the negative effects of the M&A on employees.

c. Explain why merging two organizational cultures is both difficult, yet critical to the success of any M&A.
