Problem: Discuss the sound motifs present in this week's film. Identify at least one motif and the character, action or object to which that motif is connected. Discuss how at least one of the motifs you have identified influence viewers perception of time or space. This week's film uses sound in a very unique way, describe one way the director(s) used sound to help further the narrative and create implicit meaning. When discussing your film's sound motif's, look for examples of both diegetic and non-diegetic sound qualities. Be specific and clarify meaning and intent. Address how the sound is effectively used. Discuss Foley, score, soundtrack, and/or dialog. Remember; focus on the use of the sound and how it is used to enhance the film. Use the material in this lectures, readings, and other material to support your claims. You must fully address the aspects of sound design as established in this week's readings and lecture material.
