In the Mueller Report, I found it interesting to read about the extent how which Russia used social media platforms like Facebook to polarize different parties. Also not only to polarize different parties but also to influence US voters. One part I found interesting was when discussing how to influence voters, they did it through accounts that claimed to be different people. They also set up rallies. When reading the select committee's report on the part that talks about what the intentions were, I found it interesting that it wasn't exactly clear why the Russians interfered in the election. There are theories placed in the document, theorizing that Russia wanted to exploit a vulnerability within the government.

The Conversation article which was part of the additional supplements on the syllabus noted that cyber attacks now have been using what is called disinformation to throw people off. I also think that it was interesting that the attacks were mainly on social media sites because more people now get their news from sites like facebook.
