Assignment Problem: As part of our exploration of plastics in the oceans, you have watched the required videos and taken the quiz as well as participated in the plastics discussion. The activity for this portion of the lab follows:

1. Try to eliminate the consumption of single-use plastics from your life for 5 consecutive days. Single-use plastics include straws, water and drink bottles, plastic bags from grocery, utensils, etc. Anything made from plastic that is designed to be used once the thrown away.

2. Use this link as a resource to help with this exercise: Ten Ways to Unpackage Your Life.

3. Keep a diary describing the single-use plastic products you eliminated and list and/or include photos of the substitutions you used?

4. Reflect on the experience of changing your consumptions habits. Were you surprised by how many items in your daily life are made from single-use plastic? What steps can you take to ensure you continue to use reusable items instead of single-use plastics? How difficult or easy will this be for you? What do you think about the impact of single-use plastics on the environment and on people? The reflection should be 200 - 400 words.
