Report on a survey results.
Reflect: Write a brief (2-page maximum, not including your personal development table) report on your survey results.
1. Begin with an overview of the results: What is your overall rating, and which intercultural ‘type' do the ratings indicate (e.g., globalist, individualist, traditionalist, etc.). Then, discuss whether the description of the type seems to fit with you or not. If another type seems to fit you better, what is that type and why do you think it fits you better?
2. Discuss each competency and sub-dimension of the survey (e.g., exploration, global mindset, positive regard), drawing on the grids on pages 15-20 of the report. Graph your position on the grid for each competency, and read the generalizations about people who fit in that part of the grid. Focus on aspects that seem to resonate with what you know about yourself. If a particular aspect or description does not seem to fit you, explain why.
3. Based on the information from pages 15-20, fill out a table resembling the "Personal Development Plan" on page 22 of the report, and attach this at the end of your report. Please keep it brief and to-the-point- notice how little space you would have if filling this out in hard copy, and keep it similarly brief.
To know me better :
This was my answer for pre-survey discussion :
I think my greatest strength would be Relationship Interest. Since I was in the primary school, I preferred to make friendship with different nationalities. Especially, when I came to America to study in the language school, I was so interested in knowing people from different cultures. I learnt so many things, and I taught them about my culture too. I'm a very social person, so I consider this category would be my greatest strength in intercultural effectiveness.
My area in most need of improvement is Self-Awareness. I think that I'm not aware of my strengths and weakness and their impact on others. I do not know what my interpersonal style is.
After checking the slides, I figured out that I need to develop my intercultural effectiveness in so many areas.
