In the entrepreneurial school of thought of strategic management, organizations mainly remain responsive to the dictates of an individual i.e. the entrepreneur. Entrepreneur, being the organizational leader determines the vision, centralize the decisions and develop strategies aligned with their own vision. It also promotes intuitive as well as visionary leadership thoughts. Though we know that this kind of visionary leadership is needed but sometimes over reliance on an individual’s vision can promote inflexibility and can be fatal for organizations.
On the other side, while discussing the prescriptive schools of thought of strategic management, inflexibility can be observed in strategic choices due to over emphasis on predefined designs, plans or positions.
