Another aspect of language development discussed in this section is metaphors. Let's see what metaphors you can come up with for "life" or "lifespan development". You can ask someone older in the family to see what they say and compare that to what you thought. Make sure to elaborate on your metaphor.

Now that you have watched the documentary on Genie and did the Feral Children bonus assignment, let's share some results and thoughts on this topic. Do you believe we are born to talk or do we learn to talk because our environment teaches us? Think back to those GxE interactions we discussed at the beginning of the semester. Share some of your findings from the Feral Children search. Which cases did you find? How old were the children when they were found? Did they learn to talk?
