Case Study: Scott has worked as a legal assistant for a major law firm for the last 25 years. He is has an excellent ethical record with the firm and the firm trusts him for his honesty. The one issue is that he is constantly late to work and his supervisor recently placed him in final written warning because he has had enough. Scott is not happy that after a long loyal career he faces being terminated. Scott seeks revenge. In course of his duties Scott had access to many confidential files related to the firm's clients. He used each of the following information:

1. One client, ZC microchips had a secret vendor list. Scott obtained this information and sold it to ZC's competitors. He profited $500,000 dollars but he did not share this with his law firm or with ZC. ZC's had a contract with the law firm to keep its secrets.

2. Another client, Amanda is a rap artist. Scott sent her an invoice and directed her to pay the law firm bill to his personal account. Scott well knew that this was not allowed. Amanda's assistant sent a check to Scott without realizing that the check was not going to be lawfirm's name, but rather in Scott's name. The amount was $ 200,000. Scott pocketed all of the funds and did not tell his employer about anything.
Scott's employer found about these transactions and then fired him.
