Assignment:

1. Propose a Specific Policy for Analysis (identify and select a specific local, state, or federal policy regarding a specific population or issue)
2. Identify and discuss an initial reference site for the policy and/or corresponding legislation from the web. This can be a government webpage or other public webpage identifying and describing the specific policy you have chosen. You will engage in additional research on the policy throughout this project, but you should identify an initial source that explains the policy as a starting place. Describe the website and what helpful information it can initially provide for your project.
3. Explain why are choosing this policy and what you hope to gain from learning more about it.
4. Identify and explain your current bias in this policy area. What do you already assume to be the best approach to addressing the problem the policy seeks to address? Why do you assume this? Explain what your assumptions are based upon. (Personal experiences? Political beliefs? Religious beliefs? Previous research regarding data and facts? Etc.) Also, reflect on your openness to changing your views because of this policy analysis process you are undertaking. Are you willing to pursue data, evidence, or facts that may challenge your assumptions? How will you do this?
5. Identify initial questions you have about this project.
