Problem: In his "Without Evidence or Argument: A Defense of Reformed Epistemology," Kelly James Clark, a contemporary philosopher, offers the following criticism of Clifford's principle: The first problem with Clifford's universal demand for evidence is that it cannot meet its own demand. Clifford offers two fetching examples in support of his claim. The examples powerfully demonstrate that in cases like the example, rational belief requires evidence.
